About Me As a Levite, I am no stranger to worship. I live, breathe and embrace it. When I was five, I sang my first anthem, “Unto Thee Oh Lord,” and I have been singing hymns and gospel music ever since! I learned to play the violin at nine years old, the piano as a teenager, and was professionally and vocally trained as a young adult. So, you can tell I am moved by music. For the last decade or so, I've done more singing and preaching than playing instruments. But I'm working on that too!! :) As the youngest of 5, I'm still learning how to multi-task by doing more than one thing and doing it well! Allow me to testify and encourage you. Several years ago while I was experiencing a depressing "valley place" and working in New York, The Lord spoke to me and said "Monica, as long as I am God, you'll always have options." I became one with that Word from the throne room, and that has sustained me throughout the years. NO ONE PERSON HAS YOUR LIFE IN THEIR HANDS BUT GOD! He is faithful to me! Later that same year, God spared my life from the 9-11 disaster, as I had an 8:30am meeting at the World Trade Center. That was the day I was grateful I had overslept. Thats why I love to sing, "Great is thy faithfulness." He's just that good! So, when you see a person giving God praise, you never know what they have been through. As CeCe Winana sings: You don't know the cost of my alabaster box.

Music Gospel with emphasis on worship. I also enjoy jazz, classical and some opera. I like unusual, warm, yet extraordinary voices such as: Oleta Adams, Kim Burrell, Tramaine Hawkins, Mahalia Jackson, Roberta Flack (Donny H. of course!) Rachelle Farrell, Lynn Miles, Ella Fitzgerald, Lela Hathway, Marcia Sapp. Instrumentalists: Joe Sample, Ben Tankard, Dave Grusin, Bob James, Carlton Pope, David Sanborn, Jonathan Dale, Stanley Jordan, The Yellow Jackets, The Rippingtons, Euge Grove, etc

Movies Romantic comedies, some mysteries/action flicks, and movies dealing with lawyers and courtrooms!

TV Grey's Anatomy, Law & Order, L.A. Law, The Discovery/ History/Biography channels, and every now and then "Lifetime" (except those movies where the woman is the victim/damsel in distress and can't fight for herself---ugh!)

Books The Holy Bible and other reference materials, autobiographies, some poetry, and every now and then, a good novel I can get lost in :)

Likes Interesting, positive and inspiring people, reading, cooking, travel abroad, scenary with water, fine dining,

Dislikes Liver, obnoxious, selfish, inconsiderate people and oh yeah ...the devil and what he does to people
